Former bakery owner fined $160,000

The former owner of Adelaide’s The Champion Bakery, Michael Nickols, has been fined approximately $160,000 over breaches of food safety regulations.

In particular, Nickols refused to cease trading despite an order being issued to him to stop selling food.

The bakery is no longer in business, and Magistrate Bob Harrap claimed “In my view the potential of illness or serious injury was significant.”
