ACT restaurant pays big after food poisoning incident

The Copa Brazilian Churrasco restaurant has been forced to pay approximately $1m to victims of a mass food poisoning outbreak which occured last year.

A salmonella-contaminated batch of raw egg mayonnaise led to a mass outbreak of the illness.

The owners of the restaurant are now facing both civil and criminal court proceedings.
